Juxtapose

I made my design visually exciting with all of the colors. The original background was black and white, and i used a picture of city buildings to sit on top of the original background and changed the colors. The red colors are the dark parts of the original background, and the blue is the light parts of the original background. I also made the shadows of the people colorful so they stand out. The colors and city buildings contrast with the old original black and white background.

Scanner Dreams Questions

1. What is the mood of your image? Is it a result of: contrast, subject matter, depth of field or the figure to ground relationship?

I think the mood of my image is haunting. The black and white colors and the old, vintage type look makes it look spooky. I’m also sticking my hand out, kind of like I’m reaching out for help, and my hands are the most bright part of the whole image. And the bottom image of myself looks like I’m almost fading away.  Its more of a result of contrast I think, and how the colors vary from how close I am to the camera.

2. What makes the illusion of depth? Value changes, edge quality, or size of objects?

My hands make the illusion of depth. I made them the closest thing to the scanner, while my head and body were further away. I also moved my head and hand down half way through the scan to add a wavy, stretchy effect.

Corporate Identity Project Questions

1.How do these designs show your use of the elements of art and the principals of design to relate to your THEME?

My designs represent my theme, confusion, because a lot of the things on the business card and envelope don’t seem too clear. You can probably understand what they are, but not really what they mean. Things seem to be in places that they normally wouldn’t be in, but it works with the rest of the art. I used many elements and principals such as color, texture, and repetition.

   2. How do the three designs relate and respond to each other? Do they    show change? Do they share a common shape, color or texture?

They relate to each other because they both go along with the theme of confusion. I like to work with black and white designs that are mixed with color. That is shown in my envelope and business card. I worked a lot with shapes and lines.
